| Kelly was drafted in 2006 out of high school as a member of the final draft and follow class. He signed on May 30th, 2007, right before the deadline, for a $100 K bonus, which is well above average for a 26th round pick. Kelly struggled in his first two seasons, but saw his strikeout ratio jump to 8.7 K/9, and his walk rate drop to 1.2 BB/9 during the 2009 season. Those numbers could make a great reliever if Kelly manages to lower his hit ratio, which has been the main problem in his time at West Virginia. |
