| The Pirates signed Slauter as a non-drafted free agent out of Mississippi State. Prior to his two years there, he played for two years at Barton Community College. He obviously didn’t hit much at Mississippi State, but was well regarded defensively. He missed time in his senior year with a broken left hand. Slauter figures to provide catching depth at the lower levels, particularly with the Pirates adding a new, advanced rookie league affiliate at Bristol. |
