| Hursh has a commitment to Oklahoma State, and was the #173 prospect in Baseball America’s draft rankings. He pitches in the 90-93 MPH range, touching 94 at times. He has a promising curve ball and slider, although neither pitch is consistent. Hursh needs work on his command, which is something the Pirates stress in the lower levels. He’s got a smaller frame, and generates a lot of his velocity with his arm speed. Hursh throws across his body, which adds life to his pitches. The combination of a lot of arm speed and throwing across his body isn’t ideal. Hursh could be a project for the Pirates. |
