| Dennis set the school HR record in high school before attending junior college at Wallace State. He hit well as a freshman, although the power didn’t show up. He also had a strong enough arm to pitch two innings. No 2013 stats are available for Wallace, but Dennis hit in the middle of the team’s order. He has a commitment to UAB for the 2014 season and the coach there believes that he moves well behind the plate. The commitment figured to make him difficult to sign, but he reached a deal in early July.
2013 The Pirates signed Dennis when Max Rossiter retired abruptly after just one game. Dennis caught 14 games. He didn’t do much at the plate and threw out only one of twelve base stealers. 2014 Dennis got into just five games between Jamestown and Bristol. If he returns in 2015, he’ll no doubt serve as an emergency catcher at the lower levels. |
