Game Recap: Joelvis Del Rosario got the start in the first game back for the FCL Pirates after their last three days of last week were wiped away due to cancellations. He went two scoreless innings on one hit and one walk, with three strikeouts. There was a weather delay after that point and he didn’t return to the mound when play resumed. Carlos Campos followed with an impressive performance, giving up just two hits over four scoreless innings, with no walks and seven strikeouts. Darvin Garcia took the loss when he allowed three runs over the final three innings. The offense didn’t get on the board until the ninth inning. Randy Romero walked and moved to second on a wild pitch. He scored on a double by Sergio Campana. Geovanny Planchart walked to bring up the winning run in Rodolfo Nolasco, but he grounded out to end the game. Tsung-Che Cheng collected his second double.

Game Recap: Antwone Kelly made his third start and gave up one run over two innings on one hit, on walk and two strikeouts. Jesus Clode followed with three runs allowed in the third inning. Reyson Santos allowed one run in two innings and Miguel Diaz tossed a scoreless seventh in the 5-1 loss. The offense was rather quiet, with Omar Alfonzo having the best day, with a double, single and an RBI. Ewry Espinal had two walks and scored the lone run. Pirates went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position. Shalin Polanco went 0-for-4, leaving the top international signing 1-for-28 to start his career. Ronny Sanchez, an “older” player on the team at 19, is hitting .389 with a 1.056 OPS.

Game Recap: Wilkin Valdez started the game and got roughed up early, allowing five earned runs in two innings of work. Four of those runs scored in the third inning before he could record an out. Weslyn Toussaint took over in the third and allowed an inherited run to score, as well as two runs of his own. He gave up another two runs in the fifth innings, finishing with four runs (two earned) over 2.1 innings. Lewys Guzman finished the fifth, but he gave up six runs in the seventh inning before Rafael Mendez recorded the final two outs to help ended the 15-5 drubbing.

The Pirates made the most of their base runners, scoring five runs on four hits and five walks, with just one extra-base hit. Jeral Toledo had two walks and two runs scored, as well as his first two stolen bases. Gustavo Armas had a single, walk and two runs scored. Dioris Valdez had a double and an RBI. Esmerlyn Valdez had a single, runs scored and RBI.
