Game Recap: JC Flowers was having a great season prior to Sunday. Now it’s just a great season with one bad start. He allowed seven runs (six earned) in four innings, on six hits and four walks, while striking out six batters. He gave up two runs in the first, two in the third and three in the fourth before being removed with 86 pitches (49 strikes). Cameron Junker took the fifth inning and struck out the side. Bear Bellomy took over in the sixth and allowed three runs on five hits in 1.2 innings. Oliver Garcia recorded the final out of the seventh, stranding two runners. He retired the side in order in the eighth, then catcher Dylan Shockley pitched a scoreless ninth, with two hits and two strikeouts. Greensboro lost 10-3.
The Grasshoppers got their only runs on home runs. The first run scored in the eighth inning on a homer by Matt Fraizer, his 15th of the season. He also drew two walks. He has a .330 average this season. The Grasshoppers added two runs in ninth on Grant Koch’s fifth homer. Will Matthiessen had a single, two walks and a run scored. The only other hit was a single by Lolo Sanchez. Nick Gonzales is 6-for-40 in his last 11 games. Liover Peguero is 5-for-34 in July.

Game Recap: In his first start of the season, Steven Brault tossed 1.2 scoreless innings on one hit, two walks and three strikeouts. He threw 39 pitches, with 25 going for strikes. Ryan Troutman threw 1.1 scoreless innings, then gave way to Jared Jones, who usually starts on Sundays. He went 3.1 innings, allowing three runs on five hits, two walks and four strikeouts. He has a 3.81 ERA in 26 innings, with 42 strikeouts. Sergio Umana took the next 1.2 innings and gave up one run on three hits. Enmanuel Mejia tossed a scoreless ninth before the game went in a weather delay. After a brief wait, the game was suspended with a 4-4 score.
Dariel Lopez his his fifth home run. Sammy Siani hit his eighth homer and stole his ninth base. Endy Rodriguez hit his 11th double. Sergio Campana stole his 13th base. Yoyner Fajardo had a double and two steals. He has a .308 average.
