Game Recap:  James Marvel was the tough luck loser on Wednesday night, as Indianapolis lost 2-0 to Columbus. Marvel started his night with six shutout innings before giving up two runs in the seventh. He has a 4.15 ERA in 56.1 innings. Nick Mears followed by retiring all five batters he faced. Indianapolis had four hits and they were all singles. They also had no walks and they went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position. Will Craig and Taylor Davis each had one hit. Ethan Paul had the other two hits. The loss dropped Indianapolis below the .500 mark (27-28).

Game Recap: Michael Burrows had an outstanding performance on Wednesday afternoon, allowing one hit, two walks and one run over 5.1 innings, while striking out ten batters. He threw no-hit ball through five innings, then gave up a single and a walk in the sixth, before being removed. Burrows now has a 2.30 ERA in 43 innings, with 62 strikeouts. Bear Bellomy took over in the sixth and allowed one of two inherited runs to score. He also allowed a run of his own in the seventh, before giving way to Colin Selby in the eighth. Selby tossed two no-hit innings to seal the win.

Matt Fraizer hit his 14th home run and his third triple. He now has a .992 OPS this season. Liover Peguero hit a solo homer, his sixth of the season. Jared Triolo and Matt Gorski each stole two bases. That’s now ten for Triolo and 12 for Gorski. Blake Sabol hit his first home run after joining Greensboro yesterday. Will Matthiessen hit his eighth double.

Game Recap:  Luis Ortiz had one of his best career performances on Wednesday night in a 3-2 win over Clearwater. He went six innings, allowing one run on six hits, with no walks and nine strikeouts, which set a career high. Ortiz now has a 3.38 ERA in 37.1 innings, with 44 strikeouts. Ryan Troutman picked up a win, though he allowed a run on three hits in his only inning of work. Cameron Junker tossed two shutout innings on no hits, two walks and three strikeouts.

The Marauders got their first run in the third inning on the tenth double of the season by Endy Rodriguez, which scored Sergio Campana and made it a 1-1 game. After losing the lead in the top of the seventh, Bradenton came back in the bottom of the inning and got a single from Rodriguez and Hudson Head’s ninth double of the season. Those two came in to score on a wild pitch and a throwing error. Maikol Escotto had three hits to give him a .303 batting average. Ernny Ordonez had a single and his seventh double.
