The Pittsburgh Pirates gave injury updates to the media on Wednesday through their Director of Sports Medicine, Todd Tomczyk. Here are the players covered:
The big news is that Jose Soriano, who was already recovering from Tommy John surgery and pitching in games, had a second TJ surgery and his timeline for recovery is now 16 months, which puts him out for all of next season.
Jose Soriano did have TJ revision surgery yesterday in L.A. Will miss 16 months. Tough blow for Pirates prospects.

Ji-Hwan Bae has a sprained knee from an on-field collision and will be out 4-6 weeks. He’s already missed a full week of action.
On the good news side for prospects, Nick Gonzales is expected back later this month. He’s been out for four weeks already and was expected to miss 4-6 weeks total.
On the big league side, Steven Brault is throwing on the side, but not close to returning according to this quote.
Todd Tomczyk says "he would envision possibly late July" for a Steven Brault return to action.
