Will Craig Clears Waivers, Sent Outright to Indianapolis

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Wednesday night that first baseman has cleared waivers and he has been sent outright to Indianapolis. He was designated for assignment on Friday after the Pirates needed to clear a roster space for JT Brubaker’s return from the covid intake list.

Craig hit .217/.277/.300 in 18 games with the Pirates during the absence of Colin Moran and Phillip Evans. This is the second time that he has been designated for assignment. He played two games for the Pirates in 2020, then got DFA’d in November. That means that he has the right to refuse this outright assignment and elect free agency.
