Ke’Bryan Hayes 1-2
Game Recap: Ke’Bryan Hayes started his rehab as Indianapolis (11-5) beat St. Paul, 5-1. Hayes singled and struck out, and handled four chances in three innings at third. Chase De Jong bounced back from a rough start with six strong innings. Steven Wright threw two scoreless innings and Austin Davis continued his rehab with a 1-2-3 ninth. Kevin Kramer reached base four times and Troy Stokes, Jr., who replaced Hayes in the lineup, had a single and a triple. Veteran catcher Joe Hudson, who might be able to hit .100, had a double and his first home run. Hunter Owen also connected for his first. Chris Sharpe went 1-for-5 with four strikeouts, as Indy hitters fanned 15 times.

Game Recap: Altoona (10-6) lost to Harrisburg, 6-3. Osvaldo Bido gave up only one hit over five innings, but Shea Murray and John O’Reilly got roughed up by the weakest-hitting team in the minors. They blew a 3-1 lead, combining to give up five runs, four earned, in three innings. Rodolfo Castro hit his second home run of the season. Oneil Cruz and Canaan Smith-Njigba each had two hits.

Game Recap: Greensboro (9-8) had a rough day on offense in a 7-2 loss to Hickory. The Grasshoppers didn’t get a hit until Matt Gorski doubled with one out in the seventh. They had only one other, a bases-loaded, two-run single by Will Matthiessen in the ninth. Greensboro hitters fanned 17 times. Omar Cruz had a solid start, although he went only three innings. Garrett Leonard, Grant Ford and Cristofer Melendez all scuffled a little in relief.

Game Recap: Bradenton (9-8) edged Lakewood, 7-6. Sammy Siani and Endy Rodriguez keyed a five-run second inning with two-run triples. Jase Bowen also had a triple. J.C. Flowers started and fanned five over three innings. He gave up two runs in the third, although there was only one solid hit in the inning. Steven Jennings had his weakest outing of the year, giving up three runs over three innings, all of it on a three-run homer. Flame-throwing Oliver Mateo, who seems to be finding the plate with increasing consistency, struck out the side in the ninth for the save.
