The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed right-handed pitcher Trevor Cahill on the 10-day IL, retroactive May 20th, with a left calf strain.
Cahill will be replaced on the roster by Kyle Crick, who has been reinstated from the 10-day IL, after being down with a right triceps strain.
The Pirates also announced that Ke’Bryan Hayes will begin a rehab assignment tonight with Indianapolis. Hayes is recovering from a left wrist strain, and is currently on the 60-day IL. Hayes won’t be able to return to the majors until June 3rd.
