The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Monday afternoon that infielder Todd Frazier has been designated for assignment. They also announced that outfielder Ben Gamel, who was picked up off of waivers yesterday, has been activated for tonight’s game. Frazier played just 13 games for the Pirates, going 3-for-35 at the plate, with a double, three walks and four RBIs. Gamel, who tuns 29 years old next week, went 1-for-14 in 11 games for the Cleveland Indians this year. He had a .237/.315/.404 slash line during the 2020 season, giving him an OPS (.718) two points higher than his career OPS over 453 big league games.
