The Cincinnati Reds announced on Sunday afternoon that they have claimed right-handed pitcher Carson Fulmer off of waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates. Fulmer was designated for assignment on March 7th to make room for pitcher Duane Underwood Jr., who was acquired in a trade with the Chicago Cubs.
Fulmer was with the Chicago White Sox nine months ago. Since then, he has been claimed off of waivers by the Detroit Tigers, who then lost him on waivers to the Pirates. He was then claimed by the Baltimore Orioles 11 days later without pitching a game. Just 16 days later, he returned to the Pirates on waivers, but never joined the team after being assigned to the Alternate Training Site. Fulmer allowed two runs over four innings and three appearances this spring.
