This game was supposed to feature Gerrit Cole starting against Mitch Keller, but yesterday’s forecast for today called for a 90% chance of rain in the late morning and early afternoon. That has cleared up for the most part, so they should be able to play. Cody Ponce gets the start instead and Keller threw two simulated innings in the morning. Dustin Fowler will play his first game for the Pirates. They acquired the 26-year-old outfielder from the Oakland A’s for cash considerations ten days ago. Anthony Alford makes his first start in the field this spring. The scheduled relievers for today are Nick Mears, Braeden Ogle, Carson Fulmer, Geoff Hartlieb and Shea Spitzbarth.
Well, so much for the weather clearing. Game hasn’t been called yet though
