Live Game Discussion: Pirates vs Tigers, 1:05 PM; Home Opener

The Pittsburgh Pirates open the home portion of their Spring Training schedule, taking on the Detroit Tigers today at 1:05 PM. Today’s game will be televised on AT&T SportsNet. Under new Spring Training rules for this year, the two teams agreed to play a five-inning game today, due in part to pitcher availability for the day. Below you’ll find the lineup and pitchers for today, along with some important Spring Training links.

The Lineup

Late change:

Today’s pitchers include JT Brubaker starting the game, followed in some order by Max Kranick, Cody Ponce, Sean Poppen and Braeden Ogle.

If you missed the note from Sunday, which is relevant today, spring games this year can be limited in agreed upon by managers. From now until March 13th, they could decide to play 5-9 innings. After that day, games can be 7-9 innings. Innings can also be ended early due to high pitch counts, something that has been done for years during spring games played at Pirate City.
