Watch Some Pittsburgh Pirates Prospects Throw the Ball Fast

Everyone knows that once the Puppy Bowl ends today, it is the official start of baseball season. We are just a little more than a week away from pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training at Pirate City in Bradenton, Florida. That means we will soon have much more to talk about. While you’re waiting for the Puppy Bowl to come on, I figured that I’d share some videos of Pittsburgh Pirates pitching prospects throwing baseballs at a high velocity. I’ll start with the one I saw last night.

Here is John O’Reilly (pictured above) hitting 97 MPH. Expect to see him in the Altoona bullpen this summer:

Here is Joe Jacques, coming at you from a low angle at 95 MPH with little effort:

Here’s starting pitching prospect Mike Burrows, who was throwing 95-97 here, along with an off-speed pitch thrown in there for good measure:

While it obviously isn’t the same as throwing off of the mound, here is Will Kobos throwing 100.4 MPH

Here is an interesting camera view of Nick Mears, who you got to see briefly this summer in Pittsburgh

Hey, Mitch Keller isn’t a prospect anymore!!! What is he doing here?

If you know of anymore players, let me know in the comments and I’ll add them to the post.
