Winter Leagues: Weekend Wrap-Up from Australia Includes Another Big Day from Robbie Glendinning

On Saturday in Australia, Bligh Madris went 1-for-4 with a single, walk and run scored in his team’s 22-2 loss. As a non-Pirates side note, Darryl George from Melbourne hit two grand slams in this game, going 4-for-7 with ten RBIs.

Perth had a doubleheader and Robbie Glendinning started at third base in game one. He went 3-for-4 with three singles and five RBIs. He also stole his second base. In game two as the DH he went 2-for-2 with an RBI, walk and two runs scored. Through 20 games, he’s hitting .343/.443/.507 with 20 runs scored and 21 RBIs. He has a 10:15 BB/SO ratio in 79 plate appearances.

On Sunday, Bligh Madris went 2-for-3 with a double, walk and run scored. He is now hitting .271/.363/.414 in 22 games, with four doubles, two homers and a 10:12 BB/SO ratio in 80 plate appearances. As a second non-Pirates side note, Darryl George hit another grand slam.
