Earlier this week we got a look at the new top 100 prospects list from Baseball America. The Pittsburgh Pirates did well on that list, with four prospects among the top 60 in the game. Baseball Prospectus released their updated top prospects list and they didn’t have the same high praise for the Pirates system, though they did have better rankings than Baseball America for two of the players.
Baseball Prospectus released their list of the top 101 prospects on Thursday and they have Ke’Bryan Hayes ranked as the seventh best prospect in baseball. That’s eight spots ahead of Baseball America. Nick Gonzales ranks 39th for BP, 12 spots ahead of his placement on the BA list. Oneil Cruz ranked 50th for BA and didn’t make this list. Neither did Quinn Priester, who ranked 58th for BA.
When more lists come out from various sources, we will put together an average ranking list.
