Live Game Discussion: Pirates vs Cardinals, 7:05 PM; Tucker Placed on Injured List

The Pittsburgh Pirates (14-34) host the St Louis Cardinals (22-23) for five games at PNC Park. Game one is tonight with Steven Brault on the mound going up against right handed pitcher Dakota Hudson. Brault has made eight starts and one relief appearance. He has a 5.06 ERA in 26.2 innings, with 24 strikeouts and a 1.61 WHIP. Hudson will be making his eighth start. He has a 2.92 ERA in 37 innings, with 31 strikeouts and an 0.97 WHIP. The Pirates have lost eight in a row and they were just swept by the Cincinnati Reds in a four-game series.

Prior to the game, Cole Tucker was placed on the seven-day injured list for concussions. The Pirates recalled Jose Osuna to take his roster spot. With 11 days left in the season (including tonight) that could be the end of Tucker’s season.
