The Pittsburgh Pirates (14-31) take on the Cincinnati Reds (22-26) in game two of today’s doubleheader. The Pirates lost the opener 3-1 on a walk-off homer. Mitch Keller will be on the mound against right-handed pitcher Anthony DeSclafani in the second game. Keller has been out since leaving his start on August 1st early with an oblique strain. He has pitched just 7.2 innings this season, giving up three runs on seven hits and four walks, with three strikeouts. DeSclafani will be making his seventh start. He has a 7.20 ERA in 25 innings, with 16 strikeouts and a 1.76 WHIP.
Prior to the game, Mitch Keller was activated off of the injured list. To make room for him, Kyle Crick was placed on the injured list with a lat strain.
