Live Game Discussion: Pirates at Royals, 8:05 PM

The Pittsburgh Pirates (14-27) take on the Kansas City Royals (17-28) in a three-game set at Kauffman Stadium, starting tonight at 8:05 PM. The Pirates were off yesterday, their last off-day of the season. Steven Brault will get the start tonight against left-handed pitcher Kris Bubic. Brault has a 4.37 ERA in 22.2 innings, with 20 strikeouts and a 1.50 WHIP. Bubic is making his eighth career start, still looking for his first big league win. He has a 4.89 ERA in 35 innings, with 31 strikeouts and a 1.43 WHIP.

Pirates placed Tyler Bashlor on the injured list. Austin Davis has been activated.

The Pirates taxi squad for this road trip through Kansas City and Cincinnati includes catcher Andrew Susac, pitchers Blake Cederlind and Cody Ponce, and IF/OF Jose Osuna.
