The Pittsburgh Pirates (10-24) take on the Chicago Cubs (22-14) in the finale of a three-game series on Thursday afternoon. The Pirates lost 8-2 on Wednesday night. JT Brubaker will be on the mound against right-handed pitcher Alec Mills. Brubaker will be making his fifth start, to go along with two relief appearances. He has a 4.50 ERA in 20 innings, with 22 strikeouts and a 1.40 WHIP. Mills has made six starts this season. He has a 5.23 ERA in 32.2 innings, with 24 strikeouts and a 1.16 WHIP.
There is a chance of rain in the forecast up until 4 PM (radar currently has it clearing around 3:30), so this game might not start on time. They should be able to play though if they’re willing to wait it out. If not, we have plenty of other links from today.
