Joe Musgrove and Bryan Reynolds Return to Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates made some roster moves ahead of Wednesday night’s game against the Chicago Cubs. Pitcher Joe Musgrove has been activated from the 10-day injured list and Bryan Reynolds has been reinstated from the Paternity List. To make room on the 28-man roster, Jose Osuna has been optioned to Altoona and Carson Fulmer has been designated for assignment.

Musgrove is scheduled to start tonight’s game. He has been on the injured list with right triceps inflammation since August 11th. He made three starts before the injury this year, posting a 6.75 ERA in 14.2 innings, with 17 strikeouts and a 1.77 WHIP.

Reynolds has been out since Sunday. He is hitting .184/.270/.320 in 30 games this year.

Osuna is batting .148/.179/.222 in 18 games this year.

Fulmer was picked up off waivers from the Detroit Tigers on August 24th. The Pirates activated him on August 29th and he failed to make an appearance in the four games since joining the team.
