The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed Colin Moran on the 7-day injured list for concussions, while placing Keone Kela on the 10-day injured list with right forearm tightness. Both moves are retroactive to August 24th. In their place, the Pirates have recalled pitcher Nick Mears and first baseman Will Craig, who will start at first base today. Craig will be making his big league debut.
Moran was injured over the weekend in a collision in the field, while Kela left his last outing over the weekend after facing one batter. Mears has pitched 3.1 innings for the Pirates this year over three appearances, allowing two runs on two hits, seven walks and four strikeouts. Craig hit .249/.326/.435 last year with Indianapolis, He led the club with 23 homers.
