The Pittsburgh Pirates (7-18) are taking on the Chicago White Sox (18-12) in the second game of a two-game series. The Pirates got no-hit last night, in case you somehow missed that. Trevor Williams is on the mound this afternoon against left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel. Williams has made five starts, going 24.1 innings, with a 3.70 ERA, a 1.36 WHIP and 23 strikeouts. Keuchel will be making his seventh start. He has a 2.65 ERA in 37.1 innings, with 19 strikeouts and a 1.02 WHIP.
Cody Ponce is going to get a start in tomorrow’s doubleheader in St Louis. Here’s some other news from today:
Kyle Crick threw a live BP today. From a health perspective, Pirates say he's in a good spot.
Joe Musgrove is going to throw a simulated game soon.
Jameson Taillon is going to throw his first live BP in Altoona too. Nice milestone for him.
