This season has been anything but normal, which can be frustrating for Pirates fans who wanted to see the organization taking the first steps away from the last few years under Neal Huntington.
I can’t think of a better long-term result than performing as one of the worst teams in the league in a shortened 2020 season, and getting a chance at the best future talent in the 2021 draft.
With that said, what are you watching for this season? My favorite thing has been watching guys who normally wouldn’t have been in the majors this year getting their shot. I think a lot of these cases will confirm why you can’t just jump a guy from Double-A to the majors and assume he’s ready. Still, it’s always fun seeing someone making their MLB debut, even in a season as unorthodox as this one.
