The Atlanta Braves announced that they have claimed left-handed pitcher Robbie Erlin from the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates designated Erlin for assignment on Sunday when they acquired Tyler Bashlor from the New York Mets. Erlin allowed two runs over 1.1 innings in his season debut, then followed that up with two scoreless innings in his second game, which now ends up being his last with the Pirates. He was signed as a minor league free agent this off-season and made the Opening Day roster out of Spring Training 2.0.
The #Braves today placed RHP Chris Martin on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 6, with an esophageal constriction and recalled RHP Chad Sobotka to Atlanta. The club also claimed LHP Robbie Erlin off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates.
